I asked Scott a couple of days ago, "Do you want to stay home this weekend and unpack boxes or go exploring?" Guess which one he chose?
We went to the NC Zoo today :) Payton was soooo excited about the trip. Ian was excited because Payton was excited. The drive down there was only suppose to take about an hour. It took us a little longer because we had to take a little 20 minute detour. The signs here can be VERY confusing! After Payton asking ten million times, "Mommy where are we going?," we finally made it to the zoo and we were not disappointed.
The NC Zoo is beautiful. It's divided into 2 parts - North American and African sections. Since Payton has been taking her giraffe everywhere with her, we had to go to the African exihibit first. We got to see all the animals - none were taking their naps yet. The backdrop was, of course, hilly and full of trees. The weather wasn't even that bad. It was overcast, so it was just a little humid (90% today). The picture of Ian is from a play park at the zoo.
We started with the giraffes and ended with the polar bear. The kids (and parents) were exhausted by 2 o'clock, so left, but there was much more to see. We only had to a 10 minute detour on the way home while Scott looked up where we were on his blackberry in a Hobby Lobby parking lot.
