After I dropped Payton off at school today, I met my friend Jill at Salem Lake for a run. I hadn't taken the jogging stroller out in ages and I'm pretty sure Ian didn't remember ever going for a ride in it. He was in awe the entire time, until he fell asleep. I didn't know what to expect because I had been told that it's a beautiful place, but you don't want to go running by yourself. Right at the entrance, we were greeted by a catfish mailbox. I had to take a double take and then I took the picture. I'm not sure if it belonged to the private residence across the street or to the park.
Ian and I were a little early, so we checked out the ducks. You couldn't see very far because of the fog, but some of the trees are already changing colors. It was cool and damp this morning and ended up being great for a run. The running/biking trail winds around the lake for 7 miles. The trail was canopied in trees for the 2 miles that we covered.
When we got back, we were greeted by some pretty big geese. I'm not sure how big geese are suppose to be, but these were pretty healthy I'd say. One was going at my tire and left some beak marks on the valve!
